If you have thick, yellow nails that seem to be crumbling apart, chances are you have nail fungus. There are several home remedies and medical treatments you can seek out to cure your nail fungus but perhaps one of the best and oldest way to treat nail fungus is by doing a good old fashion vinegar soak!
The reason why soaks are much more effective than any other home remedy or topical is because the solution is able to soak down through your nail underneath it to battle the fungus at its source. Rather than topicals and creams which go over the nail and around it.
But why vinegar? Good question! Vinegar has antifungal properties and has been known to completely destroy nail fungus and fungal infections. If you want to get the most powerful formula out there try mixing 4oz vinegar, 1/8th tsp of peppermint extract oil, and 1 tsp of tea tree oil. You can either mix the solution and apply it directly to a cloth and then allow the cloth to sit until dry at least three times a day until you’ve reached your desired results.
You can also try soaking your feet in one part vinegar and three parts water for at least 20 minutes every day. People have claimed this has helped them cure their toenail infections from across the world. But soakers beware! Nail fungus lives and thrives in dark, damp, and hot environments. Always be sure to thoroughly dry your feet after any soak! If not, soaking could be counterproductive and only serve to make your nail fungus worse!
